Rob Stein of the Washington Post penned an article in March 2008 called, "Is Modern Life Ravaging Our Immune System?" and managed to get the body's immune systems deterioration to the forefront of conversations. Stein wrote, "First, asthma cases shot up, along with hay fever and other common allergic reactions, such as eczema. Then pediatricians started seeing children with food allergies. Now suspected jumps in lupus, multiple sclerosis, and other afflictions caused by mis-firing immune systems."
